May has been a month to remember here at The Green House® Cottages of Homewood. From festive celebrations to heartfelt appreciation, our community has been buzzing with joy, creativity, and connection.
We kicked things off with a Cinco de Mayo celebration that was nothing short of a fiesta. Residents and staff alike had a blast enjoying delicious food and dancing the day away. The energy was contagious, and the smiles were everywhere.
During Nurses Week, we took time to honor the incredible nurses who care for our elders with such dedication and heart. A huge shoutout to each and every one of you—you are deeply appreciated! Special thanks to Southwest EMS for the sweet surprise of mini Bundt cakes—they were a hit. We also want to extend a big thank you to Whitney Espinoza for hosting a delightful paint party night. Creativity flowed, laughter echoed, and everyone left with a masterpiece and a memory.
As we rolled into National Nursing Home Week, the fun kept coming! We kicked things off with some rockin’ 80s Hairband style and sweet treats, then took a nostalgic trip back to the Fifties. Thank you to Senior Behavioral Health for the thoughtful goody basket donation, and congratulations to our lucky winner, Kimberly Taylor, LPN. Day three brought out our inner heroes with a Superhero-themed celebration, and we’re so grateful to Elite Home Health for providing a delicious lunch in honor of the week. We even had a few surprise visitors and enjoyed a sunny cookout with the neighbor kids—a perfect way to wrap up a week full of fun and friendship.
At The Green House® Cottages of Homewood, we believe in celebrating every moment, and this month reminded us just how special our community truly is. Here’s to more joy, more laughter, and more memories made together.
